About Drunk Calculator

Drunk Calculator is a free educational resource and BAC estimation tool built to help people understand how alcohol affects the body and make safer decisions.

We publish practical guides on blood alcohol concentration (BAC), alcohol content in popular drinks, drunk driving laws, responsible drinking, and personal breathalyzers. Our blog is written for everyday readers who want clear, factual information — not medical advice.

How the calculator works

The BAC estimator uses a Widmark-formula-based approach. Each drink is converted from ounces (oz) or milliliters (ml) and alcohol by volume (ABV) into grams of ethanol. Absorption curve models produce a peak BAC value for each drink, which is then combined with your weight, sex, and elapsed time to estimate your current level.

All calculator inputs are stored locally in your browser. We do not collect or store your weight, drinks, or results on our servers. See our privacy policy for details.

Editorial standards

Our articles are researched and written to explain alcohol-related topics in plain language. We cite reputable sources where appropriate, update content when laws or products change, and always emphasize that estimates are not a substitute for professional judgment, a breathalyzer, or a blood test. Never drink and drive.

Some pages include affiliate links to products we believe are useful (such as personal breathalyzers). We may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Affiliate relationships do not influence our editorial content.
